This paper examined that socio-economic factors were differently associated with younger and older married women in Bangladesh. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Madhabde , a municipality in Narsingdi district of Bangladesh and data were collected through face to face interview. Chi square test and logistic regression was applied to identify the factors that were related to contraceptive use both younger and older married women. The results showed that contraceptive prevalence rate was lower among younger women compared with older women. The finding showed that women skilled occupation and current living children were associated with younger people contraceptive use while women education, skilled occupation, husband approval of family planning, spousal communication, knowledge on contraceptive were associated with older married women contraceptive use. So, this study reveals that socio- economic factors were more associated with older married women contraceptive use than younger married women. So, family planning program in Bangladesh should give more emphasize on younger people to use contraceptive. Keywords: contraceptive, younger women, older women, family planning, Bangladesh

Combating Luxury Brand Counterfeiting: Recommended Action Strategies

    Get PDF
In the past few decades, luxury brand counterfeiting has grown significantly worldwide, and this growth caused considerable damage to the knowledge-based globalized economy and the brands. The rapid development of e-commerce business, primarily during the pandemic, has facilitated the counterfeiting trades through small shipments by different modes of transportation. Counterfeit products can be found in many industries, such as common consumer goods, IT goods, agriculture goods, pharmaceutical items, and luxury items (fashion apparel). The measures adopted to combat luxury brand counterfeiting are minimal to what should have been done. This study proposes that social media activism against counterfeiting is critical to altering consumers\u27 attitudes toward luxury brand counterfeiting and creating moral awareness about counterfeiting to change consumers\u27 counterfeit purchase intentions. Similarly, there is no denying that enforcement activism is fundamental to deter counterfeiters from keeping the counterfeiting-proliferation under control

Synthesis, Derivatives, and Applications of Structured Nanomaterials

    Get PDF
Nanomaterials offer abundant applications not accessible in regular bulk structures. A nanotubular structure (nanoscroll or nanotube) is a 1D architecture with distinct properties varying from that of the parent material. The new structure for example provides more surface area and presents more active sites on the structure exterior, interior, or edges. In this research, different nanotubular materials were targeted including nanopeapods (NPPs), nanoscrolls (NScs), and their various derivatives. Halloysite nanotubes (HNT) were used as pod materials to grow noble metal NPs in their lumen. The synthesis was done rapidly, within 2 minutes at 55 ⸰C. This allows the growth of gold (Au) NPs, silver (Ag) NPs, and palladium (Pd) NPs in HNTs. Concurrently, the growth of NPs in the HNTs were studied utilizing different amounts of reducing agents. Kaolinite has a similar chemical formula to HNTs but with a different morphology, was used as a precursor to synthesize kaolinite NScs through a microwave process. The outcome of the experiments shows that the desired NScs can be achieved within 14 hours. Alternating the final intercalating agent allowed the formation of either thin and thick outer layered NScs. Hexaniobate (HNB) NPPs were synthesized through a solvothermal process where titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2 NPs) act as peas. The nanocomposites were found to be photochemically active and were employed to degrade organic dyes in the aqueous medium after methylation of the nanocomposites. Ultrathin vanadate nanosheets (NSs) are highly desirable in a variety of applications including batteries and capacitors. Vanadate NSs were readily made by the thermal processing of vanadate NScs. The newly synthesized NSs are well dispersed and have a 4 nm average thickness
